UNCTAD's Torbjorn Fredriksson and Kuaishou's Sinuo Chen joins Advisory Board for the IDMODEL Project
The TMCD is pleased to welcome Torbjörn Fredriksson and Sinuo Chen as members of the advisory board for the IDMODEL research project. Conducting field research with partners in China and Bangladesh, the IDMODEL project seeks to understand how marginalized communities including youths and women in rural areas, can effectively start businesses through digital technology platforms.
As the Chief of the ICT Policy Section at the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Mr Fredriksson is responsible for the Information Economy Report (IER) and UNCTAD’s work on ICT sector development, ICT Policy Reviews, e-commerce development and ICT measurement. His vast experience on issues at the intersection of ICT and development will be invaluable to advising the ongoing progress of the IDMODEL project.
Ms. Sinuo Chen is the vice-president of Kuaishou, a Chinese digital technology company facilitating user-driven video-sharing and live-streaming. Kuaishou's new Social Impact Institute seeks to understand how the platform can be a catalyst for social e-commerce in rural areas.
