TMCD supporting partner countries to contain the Coronavirus pandemic

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, TMCD has continued to provide support to partner countries across the world who are struggling to contain the spread and impact of the virus.

In collaboration with the People's Government of Hunan Province and the UK Hunan Association, TMCD has donated medical equipment including 21,000 face masks to researchers and medical workers of the UK NHS. Also, through our research partners in Ghana, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, we have donated face masks to these countries, which are currently in transit.

Furthermore, in partnership with the Huazhong University of Science and Technology Alumni Association UK, TMCD has been supporting charities and fundraising efforts in the UK. A donation of £10,500 was sent to NHS to support the coronavirus relief effort. The money, which will go to frontline workers and those affected by the pandemic, will be shared out via Imperial College (IC) Hospital Charity (£3,500) and Barts Charity (£7,000).

The Oxford University Hospitals commending these donations said that they: ‘deeply appreciate the generous donation and support from TMCD’.
