TMCD co-organises Oxford-Cambridge Hundred PhDs Entrepreneurship in China Programme

TMCD will be co-organising the “Oxford-Cambridge Hundred PhDs Entrepreneurship in China Programme” together with the Western Returned Scholars Association, the All-China Students Federation, Cambridge Inno-link Globe and Chinese local governments during August and September 2015.

The event aims to provide doctoral candidates and research fellows at Oxford and Cambridge Universities as well as other overseas talents an entrepreneurial opportunity to commercialize their research outcomes and translate their technologies into the real-world context with the help of the Chinese government.

The main activities of the Programme will include a business plan competition in which the Oxford-Cambridge PhDs who bring their technologies to China are required to present their business proposals via PowerPoint or multimedia presentations. Senior venture capital experts and firms will be invited to assess the roadshows and select and award the top three venture projects. An immediate project matchingmaking will follow. Participants with mature projects will be provided with a series of entrepreneurship training sessions and subsequent supporting services on the project by the Western Returned Scholars Association. The event will meanwhile host a China-UK Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum and establish an integrated entrepreneurship platform between the two countries.

The event will take place in Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang and Changchun.
