Professor Fu comments on Xi Jinping’s UK visit

The President of The People’s Republic of China, Mr Xi Jinping, accompanied by Madame Peng Liyuan, has accepted an invitation from Her Majesty The Queen to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from 20th to 23rd October 2015.

Fu Xiaolan, Director of the Technology and Management for Development Center at Oxford University, was recently interviewed by ChinaDaily, BBC World News, BBC News Channel, and BBC Chinese Web. She said, “President Xi Jinping Visit to the UK is not only a handshake, but a warm embrace between two large countries in the world. We will see an all-round closer collaboration between the two countries in economic, technological, cultural, and social aspect. I believe that President Xi’s visit will start a golden decade for both countries.”

Professor Fu also said, "The golden era embodies the two countries' current strengths and common interests." Where the two countries complement each other, China and the UK can realize a strong union and become good partners, she said, adding that both governments take positive and pragmatic approaches to cooperation.

On the day of President Xi's visit to Her Majesty The Queen at the Buckingham Palace, Prof Fu was invited to make a live commentary with the BBC News.
